Bèrchida

Bèrchida is a beautiful, long and spacious beach, forming one large amphitheatre with the nearby shores of Mandra 'e Pische, Cannazzellu, Pedra Marchesa and Bidderosa. In 2009, it was voted the most beautiful in Italy and is considered among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. It is located in the territory of the municipality of Siniscola, from which it is 22 kilometres away and can be reached by car, via State Road 125 (the Orientale Sarda), in about thirty minutes.

The beach of Bèrchida, with its fine sand and sea colours ranging from green to turquoise, you will never find it crowded, even in high season: it will be the ideal destination for your relaxing holiday. The sandy bottom of the sea slopes gently, making this beach the ideal place for families with elderly people and small children. Access is free, but, for those who wish to have more comfort, there are a number of paid services, provided by two small bathing establishments, with: bathing equipment, canoe and pedalo hire. There are, among other things, kiosk-bars for the inevitable lunch break and ample parking.

Bèrchida is surrounded by centuries-old junipers and Mediterranean maquis, which act as a natural barrier to the Berchìda stream, which at its mouth forms a small pond where numerous animal species live.

Near the beach you will also find two archaeological areas, where you can observe and visit the remains of nuraghi Conca Umosa and Paule e’ Luca.

With a little good will, you can reach, with a long and pleasant walk along the shoreline, northwards the Capo Comino and s’Ena e sa Chitta, three kilometres of fine white sand, or to the south, theBidderosa Oasis, another enchanting place to visit. It is a coastal forest of over a thousand hectares, within which it is easy to spot migratory birds and resident species. The coastal forest includes five coves, including the beautiful beach of Bidderosa, with a pond behind it where migratory birds such as pink flamingos and herons live. Access to the Bidderosa Oasis is restricted, allowed in summer only with a quota entrance and against payment of a ticket, for the protection of the Oasis itself.
