Capriccioli

Capriccioli is another beach, or rather a series of beaches, to dream about: four delightful coves of fine sand with an emerald sea...another slice of paradise on Sardinian soil.

This paradisiacal place can be found in north-west Sardinia in Gallura, just south of Porto Cervo ('capital' of the Costa Smeralda) in the territory of Arzachena, which is only 15 kilometres away. In Gallura dialect, the name means 'little goats', indicating a pair of large, rounded boulders, smoothed by the sea and wind, that divide and encompass small beaches of soft, clear sand. All around, you will be embraced by junipers, mastic trees, wild olive trees and maritime pines, perfuming the air with Mediterranean essences and giving the place its characteristic wild charm.

The lido to the east, known as La Celvia, is characterised by shallow, sandy waters and is ideal for families with children. To the west, on the other hand, divided by blocks of pink granite, you will find the other side of the littoral: formed by two more beaches. The first is called 'del Pirata' (of the Pirate) and the second, further along the extreme tip of the peninsula, you will find the second beach, called 'delle Tartarughe' (of the Turtles): it is a natural oasis, protected by dunes and a grove of junipers, frequented by sea turtles during the period of egg laying.

On either side of the beach, walking along the rocks, you can easily reach other small beaches, shaded by groves and marked by granite rocks. 

Cala Capriccioli is equipped with all facilities: it is accessible to the disabled and has a large car park just a few steps from the beaches; there is also an info point, toilets with showers, bars and restaurants, and several hotel accommodation options. It is possible to rent deckchairs and sunbeds, dinghies, canoes and pedal boats.
